VAAA Minutes for September 17, 2009
In Attendance : Ray Louth, Darold Kemp, Jim Walker, Ray Davenport, Jim Hughes, Trish Morrison, Dave Siewert.
The VAAA meeting of September 17, 2009 convened at 9:30 A.M. at Confederate Hills Recreation Center in Highland Springs, Virginia.
Darold Kemp welcomed all in attendance.
Minutes of the June, 2009 meeting were reviewed and approved.
Jim Walker gave a financial report up through August 31, 2009. The balance of the Treasury at that time was 13,416.87. There are still outstanding transactions regarding the Gold Tournament occurring later in the day. Motion was made, seconded and carried to approve the report.
Ray Louth gave the Golf report to Gary Duff. There were 12 teams signed up and several hole sponsorships. Gary suggests that the honoree be selected earlier next year. Ray Louth also mentioned that he met with the recipient of the first Scholarship and was very impressed. The money was sent to Webb Institute on behalf of Don Rickerson.
Trish Morrison reported on membership. After the new members are loaded into the membership database, a current membership list will be available oto the Board. There was agreement to move forward with the membership cards and decals that Norris Williams is working on. He and Trish will continue to work on finalizing prices.
Jim Hughes reported that the scholarship recipient, Don Rickerson was elected President of his class. All agreed to help promote the 2nd annual Scholarship Drive this year.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
